My earliest memory of Rayford was a summer revival at Midway Church in 1978 or 1979. Since then as the years went by, he was a constant and I knew he would greet me with a smile and a hug every time I walked through those church doors.
When my parents died, his words gave me strength and comfort. He told me it would be a day for rejoicing and he was excited for when the Good Lord called him home.
I am honored to have known this man and I feel truly blessed to be able to say he was my friend.

I was so sad to hear of Rayford"s passing. He was a good man that loved and walked with the Lord. He made me feel so welcomed each and every time I went to Midway. My heart is sad that we have lost him. His life was a life well lived.. Henrilynn McLemore

Sorry for your loss. Sending prayers for the family. My cousin was Mary Nell Edmondson who was married to Rayford's father. Terri, you are not my friend on FB but I sent you a picture on messenger. You will probably have to approve it to see it. It is OK to open. It is an old picture of Wedowee Grammar school from about 1951. I think your father in on the picture because we were in the same class. I've been where you are and I understand. Bless you.
